Political contacts between Belarus, Poland on the rise

MINSK, 5 December (BelTA) – Political contacts between Belarus and Poland are on the rise. Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko made the statement as he met with Marshal of the Senate of Poland Stanislaw Karczewski in the lower chamber of the Belarusian parliament on 5 December, BelTA has learned.

“Our political contacts, including parliamentary ones, have been on the rise recently,” said Vladimir Andreichenko. In particular, Vice Marshal of the Sejm of Poland Ryszard Terlecki has been to Belarus on a visit. The visit was very constructive and productive.

The Belarusian side appreciates the positive tendencies that have been seen recently in the advancement of cooperation between Belarus and Poland and between the two parliaments. “We believe that we have neglected a lot in the development of our cooperation, including in tourism, in human relations, in the development of transboundary cooperation, trade, economic, and investment cooperation. This visit will give a new additional impulse to our relations,” Vladimir Andreichenko was convinced.

The participation of Belarusian and Polish MPs in the work of the Belarusian-Polish commission on trade and economic cooperation was suggested as a possible option.

Vladimir Andreichenko noted that the composition of the Belarusian parliament’s group on friendship with Poland will be renewed soon because a new parliament has started working in Belarus.
