MINSK, 26 November (BelTA) – Nearly all the targets set forth by Belarus’ social and economic development program will be met in 2019, Prime Minister Sergei Rumas told reporters following a meeting with the head of state on 26 November, BelTA has learned.

“These areas of growth coincide with those articulated in the government’s action plan. The plan has recently been approved by MPs. A series of major investment projects have recently been completed and the government expects them to pay off. Other areas of growth include SMEs, rapid development of information technology and transportation services,” Sergei Rumas said.

As for the forecast for next year, the premier noted that it is in line with the country’s social and economic development program till 2020. The government expects all the targets set forth by this document to be fulfilled by the end of the five-year plan, except for the investment target.

“At the same time, we have discussed the reserves we have to fulfill this target in 2019 and 2020 and the government will work on it,” he assured.
