Pirshtuk: Belarus, Germany should build up business cooperation

MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) – Belarus and Germany should build up business cooperation, Deputy Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Boleslav Pirshtuk said as he met with Volker Treier, Deputy CEO of the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce, on 8 June, BelTA has learned.

According to Boleslav Pirshtuk, the potential of cooperation of the two countries is not used in full. “We have good interregional twin-town ties. But I think that we should advance cooperation in business,” the vice speaker emphasized. In his opinion, it largely depends on the German side. “We are ready to use your experience, assimilate everything we can at this stage and step up efforts. Therefore, it is needed to have more meetings at various levels and lift emerging barriers in our relations. I am optimistic about our future results and am confident that we can step up cooperation,” the vice speaker said.

He stressed that the members of the House of Representatives are interested in constructive interaction with the German side and are ready to provide all-round assistance.

Volker Treier, in turn, thanked for the contacts that were established between the Belarusian parliament, the representational office of the German economy in Belarus, and the embassy of Germany. “We can promote the potential of our cooperation and provide information about it within the framework of the partnership network – our union unites the chambers of commerce and industry of Germany and has abroad network of representational offices abroad,” he said.
