Opinion: Made in Belarus #AgroFood will help strengthen Belarus-Ukraine economic ties

MINSK, 16 June (BelTA) - The virtual exhibition Made in Belarus #AgroFood is a new step towards strengthening economic ties between Belarus and Ukraine, President of the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Gennady Chizhikov said at the official opening ceremony of the exhibition, BelTA has learned.

Gennady Chizhikov said that representatives of seven ukrianina regions that are interested in cooperation with Belarusian partners are taking part in the exhibition today. “Our countries enjoy long-standing diplomatic, trade, and economic relations. It is nice to note that we hold many joint business events and exhibitions. This gives us additional opportunities to step up bilateral relations. We see the Made in Belarus exhibition as a new step towards strengthening the economic ties," he said.

“The current conditions necessitate taking new extraordinary approaches, and I am pleased that our colleagues from Belarus are holding such a wonderful virtual exhibition. It gives us an opportunity to meet, to help our businessmen establish contacts.  he virtual platform helps engage in cooperation thousands of enterprises from different countries. I hope this event will kickstart a series of similar virtual exhibitions in other countries to enhance our contacts and communications,” said the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Chairman of the Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry Adkham Ikramov also views such online expos as important. “The pandemic has had a serious impact on the development of the world economy and trade, but the world is not standing still, and now many business events are held in the virtual format. I would like to emphasize a high level of organization of this exhibition,” he said.

More than 120 enterprises from Uzbekistan are participating in the exhibition, Adkham Ikramov said. “We are ready to cooperate with Belarus and see very great opportunities for strengthening relations in various sectors of economy. The products of Belarusian enterprises are well known in Uzbekistan, and the industrial and economic potential of all Belarusian regions and enterprises of various industries are well known throughout the world,” he said.
