MINSK, 5 June (BelTA) – Belarusian manufacturers will take part in the food, hospitality & agriculture expo FoodAgro due in Nairobi on 1-3 August to gain a foothold in the Kenyan market, Valery Sadokho, Director of the National Center for Marketing at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, told the media, BelTA has learned.

“The head of state has repeatedly urged us to explore the distance-arc countries. Kenya is among such states. It is an agrarian country where the agriculture sector accounts for more than 35% of GDP. We produce a large number of agricultural machines. Today we are set to launch shipments of mounted equipment to our tractors already in Kenya. Therefore, we need to take advantage of FoodAgro. Those who already supply products to the Kenyan market should increase their presence while newcomers find their place there,” Valery Sadokho said.

He emphasized a big potential for Belarusian producers on the market of Kenya. “Minsk Tractor Works, Belshina, Belarusian Potash Company and Grodno Azot are the companies that have already been supplying their products to Kenya. We can also supply our medications. They are reasonably priced and of good quality. The potential is still hugely untapped,” the director of the center said.

FoodAgro is part of Kenya International Trade Exhibition (KITE), the biggest exhibition event in East Africa. This year the exhibition will be held for the 22nd time.
