Opinion: Belaya Rus seeks social prosperity, not political power

MINSK, 19 January (BelTA) – The goal of the Belaya Rus public association is social prosperity rather than power game, Gennady Davydko, Chairman of the Belarusian State TV and Radio Company, a Belaya Rus member, told the media on 19 January, BelTA informs.

Gennady Davydko made comments on the prospects for transforming Belaya Rus into a political party. “Every party seeks power. Belaya Rus does not fight for power. It fights for the prosperity of our society,” he clarified.

The public association always takes part in politics. “Its fundamental status gives an opportunity to collect the opinions of the political parties on the social basis,” Gennady Davydko underlined.

Belaya Rus’ history has showed that such contribution to the consolidation of the society and real effort towards the country’s independence can hardly be overestimated, he added. “Belaya Rus is an army of patriots working towards consolidating the society and developing the civic society,” Gennady Davydko summarized.
