MINSK, 2 May (BelTA) -  Belarus is interested in strengthening and developing the relations with Russia, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said in an interview with the Euronews TV channel, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“There is an absolutely inclusive, open dialogue which is aimed at improving the constitutional process and amending the constitution. Everyone can take part in this process,” Vladimir Makei said

Proposals to amend the constitution will be ready by 1 August, the minister stressed. They will then be presented for broad public discussion. Whoever wants to take part in this dialogue is welcome to.

“We believe that it is only through a dialogue which is based on the country's legal framework not on attempts to make a revolution or seize power through street protests that we can succeed. Only through this kind of dialogue we can succeed and have a true democracy in the Republic of Belarus, a democracy that is not imposed with sticks, but a democracy that matures in the minds of citizens,” Vladimir Makei said.
