Nazarbayev suggests extending assembly operations with Belarus

MINSK, 29 November (BelTA) – Belarus and Kazakhstan will benefit from more active cooperation in assembling automotive equipment, Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev said during the talks with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

Nursultan Nazarbayev said that in Kazakhstan there are 260 major sub-assemblies of Belarusian equipment. Today the leaders of the two states discussed the expansion of contacts in this field. Relevant documents are expected to be signed during the Belarus-Kazakhstan business forum in Minsk. According to the Kazakhstan president, such contacts “are needed and beneficial to both countries”.

The talks also touched upon agricultural machinery for harvesting grain. Nursultan Nazarbayev believes that this is a very good proposal and that he supports it.

Speaking about the mutual trade, the Kazakhstan president said that the trade has been growing but it still does not match the capacity of the countries.

Nursultan Nazarbayev also stressed that in the relations between Belarus and Kazakhstan there are no political, economic or any other problems, which paves the way for increased cooperation.
