MOSCOW, 2 April (BelTA) – The integration experience accumulated by Russia and Belarus allows addressing common challenges in the interests of the brotherly peoples, and also contributes to the full-fledged development of the Eurasian Economic Union, Speaker of the State Duma of Russia Sergei Naryshkin said in his welcoming address to the participants of the solemn meeting dedicated to the Day of Unity of Russia and Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the lower house of the Russian Parliament.

Sergei Naryshkin said that the integration transformations in all spheres of the Belarusian-Russian cooperation, namely in economy, social policy, science and culture, defense and security, fight against crime, environment, have gradually led the two countries from the community of Russia and Belarus towards the Union of Belarus and Russia and towards the creation of the Union State.

"During this journey we have always felt the commonness of the past, present and future of our two peoples. This year's celebrations of the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War got a truly national response in Belarus and Russia and this is the best proof of this,” the address reads.
