MINSK, 6 July (BelTA) - Diverse large-scale contacts between Belarus and China promote trust, Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich said as he met with a delegation of Chinese artists, BelTA has learned.

"I am really happy that you brought a big delegation. This again shows the magnitude of our relations and diversity of our contacts in all areas. In addition to the highest and high level meetings such contacts promote trust, and allow us to learn more about each other," said Mikhail Myasnikovich.

The Speaker also stressed that the two countries have been actively developing not only trade, economic relations and investment cooperation but also humanitarian contacts. The basic approaches to cooperation in all areas are the same. "We have no disagreements," said Mikhail Myasnikovich.

In turn, Chinese artist Yao Zhihua told reporters that his colleagues are eager to show all sides of Chinese fine arts in Belarus. “For this we have arranged several exhibitions of Chinese artists from different cities, including Beijing, Xian. We mainly held them in Minsk. Then we saw that there was the interest in these exhibitions in regions and held one event in Mogilev. Now we planning an event during the Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk,” he said.

As was reported, in May 2015 China hosted the Days of Culture of the Republic of Belarus. Belarusian artist Marina Elyashevich presented 25 graphic works in China as part of the days. The Chinese Culture Days in Belarus are scheduled for 10-14 October 2015. It is expected that Beijing People's Art Theater will visit Belarus. The National Art Museum will host the exhibition "Silk art” and a fashion show of clothes made of silk. In addition, Minsk will host the first meeting of the joint commission on cultural cooperation of the intergovernmental Belarusian-Chinese cooperation committee.
