MINSK, 4 November (BelTA) - Members of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus are taking part in the autumn online meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe on 3-4 November. Member of the Standing Committee on National Security Ivan Mamaiko is taking part in the Mediterranean Forum on 4 November, BelTA has learned.

“Belarus is a consistent supporter of a multi-vector foreign policy. We have always advocated and continue to advocate security on the continent. We have always supported the peacemaking policy. Unfortunately, there have recently been certain nuances, including in such a respected organization as the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. This is not just the opinion of Belarus. Unfortunately, the policy of double standards leads to tension in certain situations. The head of our delegation was unable to attend the previous session because the visa had not been issued,” said Ivan Mamaiko.

According to him, the position of Belarus remains intact. “We support the concept which was once voiced by the head of our state at the United Nations that medium and small states have the right to take part in ensuring security just like the geopolitical leaders. Our main task is to ensure peace and tranquility in our continent. The Belarusian delegation always supports this position within the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly. It is necessary to participate, voice your position and opinion. Of course, part of the audience always hears that,” the MP said.
