Moldova views Belarus as priority regional partner

CHISINAU, 3 October (BelTA) – Moldova views Belarus as a priority regional partner, Moldovan Prime Minister Pavel Filip told reporters summing up the results of the official visit of the head of the Belarusian government Andrei Kobyakov to Moldova, BelTA has learned.

“We view Belarus as a priority regional partner. During our meetings and discussions, we emphasized the advanced level of the relations between Moldova and Belarus that continue to develop based on the principles of friendship, respect and mutual support,” Pavel Filip noted.

He said that Belarus and Moldova have achieved a lot in bilateral relations, but stressed that much more can be done to strengthen the cooperation.

Pavel Filip praised the work of the intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation. “This mechanism is effective,” he said.

“Belarus is an important market for Moldova’s traditional products. We very much value the stability of the economic relations between Belarus and Moldova,” Pavel Filip stressed.
