Minsk to host EaP informal ministerial dialogue in June

MINSK, 14 May (BelTA) – An informal ministerial dialogue of the Eastern Partnership countries will take place in Minsk in June, Andrea Wiktorin, the head of the EU Delegation to Belarus, said on the sidelines of the international forum on information and communication technologies TIBO 2018, BelTA has learned.

“Belarus takes an active part in the Eastern Partnership activities in the field of digital economy, and we are very glad that Belarus will host the informal dialogue which will focus on on the digital economy,” Andrea Wiktorin informed.

She emphasized that the holding of such an event in Minsk shows the potential for cooperation in the Eastern Partnership program. “We are working on harmonizing digital markets in the EU. This is our goal. For us Belarus is an important country in this matter. This is one of those areas where we can cooperate,” she noted.

Andrea Wiktorin said that this is not her first visit to TIBO. “I was here last year. The event was very well organized. Such events are a good place for networking and discussing new projects,” she added.

The 25th international forum on information and communication technologies TIBO 2018 opened in Minsk on 14 May. The opening ceremony was hosted by Minsk Arena. At a plenary meeting the heads of government bodies, international organizations, the leading ICT companies have international experience in digital transformation, forecasts and prospects for state-of-the-art technologies.
