Medvedev: Belarus, Russia are true partners

ST. PETERSBURG, 29 January (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia are true partners, Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev said as he met with his Belarusian colleague Andrei Kobyakov on 29 January, BelTA has learned.

“Belarus is not just a neighbor for us. We have the Union State, the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU). We are true partners,” Dmitry Medvedev said.

In his words, the today’s meeting gives an opportunity to share information about the current situation in the economy, projects and plans which are in the pipeline or in full swing in the Union State and the EEU. “I suggest analyzing the dynamics of our ties in 2015, the size of the bilateral trade and shape plans for the year 2016,” Dmitry Medvedev said.

He stressed that Belarus and Russia have to discuss certain issues taking into account the joint focus on large-scale projects, particularly, in import substitution.
