Makei: OSCE Secretary General's visit to Belarus is timely

MINSK, 15 June (BelTA) – The present visit of OSCE Secretary General Lamberto Zannier to Belarus is timely, Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said as he met with the OSCE Secretary General on 15 June, BelTA has learned.

The minister stressed that Lamberto Zannier has come to Belarus at a time when the region is dealing with a difficult situation. “Your visit is timely,” Vladimir Makei noted. He pointed out that while in Belarus, the OSCE Secretary General will have a chance to get his own idea of the developments in the country.

“We have no intention of using this visit to achieve political goals or get any political dividends,” the Belarusian minister stressed.

Vladimir Makei said that the participants of the visit will discuss a wide range of issues, including those related to the implementation of the joint Belarus-OSCE projects and the Ukraine crisis.
