Makei: Belarus will not initiate destructive steps against its partners

MINSK, 23 November (BelTA) - Belarus will never initiate destructive actions against its partners, Belarus’ Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said in an interview to Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.

“Unfortunately, no one can say how we will be living tomorrow, the day after tomorrow,” said the minister. “We advocate the logic of cooperation, we will never initiate any destructive actions against our partners,” he added.

He assured that Belarus wants to develop constructive cooperation. “However, if sanctions are imposed on us, we will certainly have to respond adequately. You know that the European Union has introduced additional sanctions against a dozen and a half Belarusian persons, we will also expand our sanction lists, which will include officials of the European Union, the leadership of several European states,” said the Belarusian minister of foreign affairs.
