Makei: Belarus is doing its utmost to facilitate a dialogue and keep international peace

MINSK, 18 July (BelTA) – Belarus is doing its utmost to facilitate a dialogue and keep international peace. Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei made the statement as an exhibition dedicated to the genocide of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 opened at premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, BelTA has learned.

Vladimir Makei remarked that today the world’s durability is being sorely tested, principles of multilaterality are eroding, some countries revise results of World War Two, and attempts are being made to equate rights of victims and butchers, liberators and aggressors.

The official said: “Belarus has been doing and continues doing its utmost to facilitate a dialogue and search for ways to keep international peace and security, preserve and strengthen historical truth. Efforts to immortalize memory about victims of the Great Patriotic War represent one of the inalienable components of such systemic and persistent work.”

At the same time Belarus honors memory of all victims of the war of the multiethnic Belarusian people without an exception and does not differentiate them depending on their ethnicity, religion, or culture, Vladimir Makei stated.
