Makei: Belarus, EU, USA aim for equal respectful dialogue

MINSK, 8 February (BelTA) - Belarus, the EU and the United States aim for an equal respectful dialogue, Belarus Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei told reporters, BelTA has learned.

The prospects that the restrictive measures against Belarus will be lifted are normal, Vladimir Makei said. "I think the prospects here are normal. The most important thing is that we were able to achieve changes not only in the environment but also in the content of our relations with the EU and the United States. All parties are focused on an equal respectful dialogue,” Vladimir Makei said.

Vladimir Makei said that during his report to the President special attention was given to the prospects for normalizing relations with the West, particularly the EU and United States. The head of state gave the concrete instructions regarding the development of all-round cooperation with the EU, including in such sensitive areas as human rights, work with the OSCE on electoral issues and so on.
