Lukashenko: We should not lose what we have in this dangerous moment

Lukashenko: We should not lose what we have in this dangerous moment

Gomel, 21 July (BelTA) – It is important to maintain the country’s independence and sovereignty at this moment of time, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he solemnly inaugurated a new municipal polyclinic in Gomel on 21 July, BelTA has learned.

“We are going through a very dangerous moment now; we should not lose what we have created. No way! This is the most important thing. We should preserve this piece of land and not give it away to anyone. There is no fear, no catastrophe, but rascals should know that we will always be sovereign and independent and will live on this land together with our children,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko advised not to believe those who promise fast reforms and prosperity without effort and over a short period of time. “When they tell you about some reforms, about bringing money by helicopter and distributing it, do not buy it,” the president said. He recalled that it took several decades to gradually restore Gomel Oblast and overcome the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster. “No one promised us anything back then. No one came here to spin a yarn. Do not buy it, do not lose your country,” the president added.
