Lukashenko: We resolutely protect the interests of the majority who voted for united Belarus

MINSK, 3 November (BelTA) – The Belarusian government decisively protects the interests of the majority of people who voted for the united country and who support the independent and stable state, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he received the credentials from foreign ambassadors in a ceremony at the Palace of Independence on 3 November, BelTA has learned.

The head of state noted that today Belarus is going through a difficult period as it has to defend its sovereignty, maintain stability and expand a public dialogue. According to him, this year's developments have put not only the government, but also the entire Belarusian society to the test.

“As the head of state, I want to assure that we can effectively counter challenges and threats, ensure domestic political stability, and prevent the split in the society and mayhem by radicals. We resolutely defend the interests of the majority of citizens who voted for united Belarus and stand for the independent and stable state,” Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed.

The president has no doubts that Belarusians have the desire, will and the necessary tools to restore stability in the society by maintaining the balance of interests and to live a calm and safe life.

“We are ready to interact with all our foreign partners, discuss any cooperation matters, including exchange of views on the situation in Belarus. However, this can be done on the condition of respecting the interests of the parties and avoiding interference in domestic affairs,” the head of state noted.
