Lukashenko warns against ceding domestic market to foreign competitors

SOLIGORSK DISTRICT, 3 October (BelTA) – At the meeting to discuss the development of the domestic poultry industry Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko warned against relinquishing the domestic market to foreign competitors and urged to provide every possible support to domestic enterprises, BelTA has learned.

“We shouldn’t cede our market to anyone. We should dominate there. We need to provide all necessary support to our enterprises; this is critically important. Our objective is singular: to protect our market across all sectors,” the head of state emphasized.

He further clarified the strategy: “If some manufacturer has a clear market niche and a strong economic case, we should fund it. We will not waste money on questionable ventures.”
