Lukashenko urges to toughen punishment for DUI homicides

MINSK, 28 January (BelTA) – It is essential to toughen punishment for DUI homicides, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at the session of the board of the Interior Ministry to discuss the performance of law enforcement bodies in 2015, BelTA has learned.

The head of state urged to toughen punishment for DUI crimes, especially homicides. A lot of homicides are committed by people under the influence of alcohol, the President noted.

It is absolutely inadmissible when such crimes are committed by civil servants.

“Punishment for such crimes should be as tough as possible. Then we will make a difference,” Alexander Lukashenko is convinced.
