Lukashenko: Teachers’ mission is to educate and bring up young Belarusian citizens

MINSK, 30 September (BelTA) – Teachers have a very important mission to teach and bring up young citizens of Belarus, the massage of greetings from Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko to Belarusian teachers says. It was read out by Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Igor Buzovsky at the solemn meeting held in Minsk in the run-up to Teacher’s Day, BelTA has learned.

The mission of a pedagogue is to nurture love for the Homeland, teach children to respect traditions, promote their passion for knowledge and creativity. “For students you should not only be professionals and experts in your subjects, but also older friends, leader who can inspire them to do good deeds and be a role model. To cope with these tasks you need profound knowledge, excellent pedagogical skills, moral qualities and commitment to work,” the message of greetings reads.

On 30 September the Palace of Trade Unions hosted a solemn meeting dedicated to Teacher’s Day. It brought together over 500 teachers and pedagogues, preschool teachers and heads of further education centers for children and adults. About 100 teachers received awards for their diligences and love for children.

Igor Buzovsky presented honorary certificates and letters of thanks from the Belarus President Administration to the best teachers. Besides, for many-year productive work in the education system ten people received lapel badges of the Belarusian Education Ministry, 12 people got honorary certificates of the ministry.

The Belarusian Union of Workers of Education and Science congratulated more than 20 dynasties of teachers from all regions of Belarus for a big contribution to the development of social partnership.
