Lukashenko sends birthday greetings to China president

MINSK, 15 June (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has sent birthday greetings to President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Today China, having coped with a pandemic of a new type of coronavirus, has become one of the few countries demonstrating an economic growth. The personal role of you, a wise leader of the hardworking Chinese people, in this is great,” the head of state said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized that the bilateral dialogue between Belarus and China has been steadily developing, having already firmly established such characteristics as “stainless brotherhood” and “all-weather partnership”, and concrete results testify to the fact. The president is confident that together the countries will be able to bring relations to a higher strategic level.

“Our countries have recently shown a model of cooperation to the whole world. In the international arena, facing strong external pressure, Minsk and Beijing successfully resist all hostile attacks, demonstrating the strength of friendship and resilience,” said Aleksandr Lukashenko.

According to the head of state, Belarus is an active participant in the Belt and Road initiative, an important part of which is the successfully operating China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone.

The president expressed his sincere gratitude for the support provided to Belarus at a difficult time for the country.
