Lukashenko reaffirms Belarus' commitment to cooperation will all countries

MINSK, 9 August (BelTA) – As a country in the center of Europe, Belarus will always cooperate with all states without bowing down before anybody, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko told the media after he cast his ballot in the 2020 Belarus' presidential election on 9 August, BelTA has learned.

The head of state remarked that Belarus is committed to cooperation with other countries across the board. He said that he had spoken sincerely about foreign policy in the State of the Nation Address. “Belarus is a home in the center of Europe with windows to the East and the West, with doors to the South and the North. It was determined by God, and because of our geographical position we must cooperate with everybody as a country in the center of Europe. And we will cooperate with everybody,” Aleksandr Lukashenko assured.

In his words, there are two strong states in the east. “No matter if we want it or not, we will always cooperate with Russia, we will always be together depending on Russia's readiness for the more or less close cooperation,” the head of state said.

Aleksandr Lukashenko also mentioned the interaction with the People's Republic of China: “We have great relations with the People's Republic of China.”

He added that Belarus maintains very good relations with post-Soviet countries. “Even out relations with Poland are improving, and if you do not organize anti-Belarusian campaigns, for example, provide refuge to various activists in a defiant mode, we will build relations with you,” the president said.
