Lukashenko outlines challenges, threats requiring CSTO’s prompt response

BISHKEK, 27 November (BelTA) – At the CSTO summit in Bishkek on 27 November, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko outlined the challenges and threats that the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) needs to respond to promptly, BelTA has learned.

The head of state stated that a number of military and non-military challenges and threats currently require the CSTO's special attention and an immediate response.

“These are artificial intelligence; unmanned aerial vehicles and lethal autonomous combat systems with self-learning algorithms; cyberterrorism; ensuring the security of vital energy infrastructure facilities, primarily nuclear and hydroelectric power plants; and finally, the problem of closed borders for the movement of goods and people. These issues concern all CSTO member states,” the president emphasized.
