Lukashenko on Year of Belarusian Woman: We chose a symbol, not just a theme

MINSK, 13 January (BelTA) – For the first time in the history of sovereign Belarus, it is not just a theme of the year that has been chosen, but also its symbol, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the reception held on behalf of the head of state to celebrate Old New Year on 13 January, BelTA has learned.

In his review of 2025, the president characterized it as successful and, in many ways, landmark. Although there was a possibility that 2025 could have turned out difficult and unsuccessful, the Belarusian people, according to the head of state, rallied together and did everything to prevent that from happening. “We must do everything to make the coming year even better. This is the meaning of our lives. Especially since, for the first time in our sovereign history, we have chosen not just a theme of the year, but also its symbol,” Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized. He noted that this decision was met with great approval from both women and men alike.“The Year of the Belarusian Woman must be special,” the president stated.

Aleksandr Lukashenko congratulated everyone on the winter holidays, wishing them health, happiness, prosperity, and joy. “May this solemn reception become an evening of pleasant surprises, long-awaited gifts, and only good news,” he said.
