MINSK, 1 August (BelTA) – No one will succeed in bringing Belarus and Russia to their knees – both countries are determined to defend their interests, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said while answering journalists’ questions during his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Valaam Island, BelTA reports.
The heads of state were asked about Western sanctions and their response to them.
“If someone has closed a door on us, there are still many open doors in the world. Both Russia and Belarus have made a serious pivot. The world will yet come to appreciate what we have done. We live, and we will go on living. In this world, no one will succeed in bringing us to our knees. We are fully resolved to defend our interests,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
