Lukashenko: Next five years in Belarus will be the time of youth

MINSK, 24 January (BelTA) - The next five-year period in Belarus will be the time of youth, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the final concert of the Marathon of Unity campaign in Minsk on 24 January, BelTA learned.

“I have spoken many times about continuity and about the fact that in five years more than half of people in our country will be people born in the period of independence. They did not know the empire of the Soviet Union or the life in the toughest 1990s. The year 2020 showed that we were not doing enough for the youth. Not as much as today,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

He drew attention to the fact that security, absence of social stratification, affordable medicine and education, guaranteed first job placements, good roads, low prices and comfortable services appeared in Belarus not by themselves and not from the internet.

“Building a new country is an arduous task. The next five-year period will be the time of youth,” the president said. “The task of the elder generation is to pass on experience, knowledge, skills, competencies to the new generation of managers, workers, farmers, athletes, IT specialists. Involvement of young people in all spheres of the state's activity will become decisive.”
