Lukashenko expects breakthrough in Belarusian science

Lukashenko expects breakthrough in Belarusian science

MOGILEV, 21 March (BelTA) – The invention of cancer cure and a unique energy source would be a breakthrough for the Belarusian science, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he talked to Kronospan Company workers in Mogilev on 21 March, BelTA has learned.

“I would like our science to make a breakthrough and defeat the horrible disease that we have not yet managed to cure. If a breakthrough happened and we learned to cure cancer just like any other disease, it would be a blessing,” Alexander Lukashenko noted.

The president pointed out that the country has been engaged in scientific research in this field for a long time. The Belarusian doctors have achieved great results in cancer treatment, learned to detect cancer at an early stage and perform unique surgeries.

“I would also like our scientists to invent a new energy source so that we do not have to beg our friends for every other batch of oil or gas,” Alexander Lukashenko remarked.

The president said that Belarusian scientists regularly come up with new solutions, but the industries refuse to assimilate them. The head of state believes this is wrong. The innovations that can improve or facilitate the production process should be implemented.
