Lukashenko: Diplomacy plays a big constructive role in international relations

MINSK, 20 May (BelTA) – Diplomacy and diplomats play a big constructive role in international relations, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he received credentials of foreign ambassadors on 20 May, BelTA informs.

“A constructive role of diplomacy and diplomats who can listen, hear, hold talks and strike a compromise, who help overcome difficulties and disagreements in international relations is very important today,” the head of state said.

The president remarked that in the modern world, torn by contradictions, unremitting military conflicts, trade wars and sanctions, extremism and intolerance, other unprecedented challenges and threats, Belarus is persistently and consistently promoting a peaceful and comprehensive agenda.

“We are sincerely committed to bolstering dialogue regarding the enhancement of security and cooperation in the Euro-Atlantic region and Eurasia. We are committed to creating efficient mechanisms of partnership between various integration associations, formation of a favorable environment for trade, economic and investment interaction,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

He also expressed hope for the support of the states which the ambassadors represent on these and other topics of mutual interest.
