Lukashenko demands proper control in housing and utility sector

MINSK, 20 October (BelTA) – The housing and utility sector should not be left without control, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at the nationwide seminar to discuss the improvement and development of the Belarusian housing and utility sector on 20 October, BelTA informs.

“The government, local authorities need to think about what has to be done for the optimal resolution of pending issues. I will not tolerate the lack of control in this vitally important sector. Such segments as heating, water supply, housing overhaul should be under control of the state,” Alexander Lukashenko said.

The president remarked that the demands of people will be increasing every year, especially with the increase of prices for services. “It is normal, this is how it should be, time does not stand still,” he added.

The head of state urged to step up efforts to sort things out in the housing and utility sector. “We need a concrete plan to normalize work,” Alexander Lukashenko said. “People attending this meeting are the representatives of the central and local government. Power is given by the law for you to work hard in the best interests of the state, society, people, to make right managerial decisions.”

The president instructed to inform all workers of the industry about the issues which were discussed at the nationwide seminar. They should realize the importance of the processes going on in the system. “This is the foundation of their corporate spirit and readiness to fulfill all tasks. We determine our wellbeing and the confident future of our country,” the head of state said.
