Lukashenko: CSTO is security guarantor in Eurasia

DUSHANBE, 16 September (BelTA) – The CSTO is a guarantor and donor of security in Eurasia, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said at the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council in Dushanbe on 16 September, BelTA has learned.

The head of state noted that in 2022 the Collective Security Treaty will mark its 30th anniversary, while the organization itself will mark 20 years since establishment. A lot of work needs to be done ahead of these milestones.

“We need, at least, to take stock of what has been done and what needs to be done. Perhaps, we will need to outline new long-term development tasks for the CSTO that acts as a guarantor and donor of security in Eurasia,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
