Lukashenko congratulates Trump, expresses hope for normalization of relations with USA

MINSK, 9 November (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko has sent greetings to Donald John Trump who has been elected President of the United States of America, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“Your victory shows that the American people are in favor of a policy based on honesty, responsibility, search for changes,” the message of greetings reads. “Your active, sincere, and courageous position during the election campaign inspired the American society, returned it to true democracy.”

Alexander Lukashenko emphasized that in its foreign policy, Belarus has always sought to maintain constructive cooperation with the United States of America. “I hope that under your leadership the efforts to normalize the relations between our countries will be continued,” the Belarusian leader remarked.

The head of state wished Donald John Trump strong health, energy, and persistence in fulfilling the election promises.
