Lukashenko comments on Ukraine’s counter-offensive plans

Lukashenko comments on Ukraine’s counter-offensive plans

MINSK, 31 March (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko said that the counter-offensive planned by the Armed Forces of Ukraine would be extremely dangerous and would be the worst that could happen under the current conditions. He made the statement as he delivered his annual Address to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly on 31 March, BelTA has learned.

According to the president, such actions will make peace talks impossible at this stage and it is important to begin them as soon as possible.

“Unfortunately, we hear a lot of talking about the counter-offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In my opinion, this is extremely dangerous. This is the worst thing that is possible in the current conditions, because it can destroy all hopes for the negotiation process and lead to an irreversible escalation of the conflict. You know what will happen,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

The head of state stressed that it would be madness to count on winning a war with a state that possesses nuclear weapons.
