Lukashenko: Belarusian army can fight back any aggressor

Lukashenko: Belarusian army can fight back any aggressor

MINSK, 1 July (BelTA) – The Belarusian army is constantly at high operational readiness and can fight back any aggressor, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at a solemn ceremony on the occasion of Belarus Independence Day, BelTA has learned.

“Today our army is at high operational readiness and can fight back any aggressor, especially with the assistance of the Armed Forces of Russia, our sisterly nation,” the Belarusian leader stressed.

In his words, the strengthening of the cooperation with other countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Eurasian Economic Union is a major security factor. “I am confident that it is in this way only that we will manage to build up Belarus’ defensive capacity and enhance the wellbeing of the country,” Alexander Lukashenko emphasized.

“Of no less importance today is our comprehensive partnership with China with whom we actively develop cooperation not only in economy, but also in defense,” the head of state said.
