MINSK, 15 December (BelTA) – Belarus wants to have good relations with the United States, but will not get ahead of itself, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said as he made new appointments in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and diplomatic missions on 15 December, BelTA has learned.

“We have stated our position – this is an empire, the world’s leading power, and we need to have good relations with them. But we should by no means get ahead of ourselves and make false promises. We have chosen a direction for the development of our relations, and we should follow this path,” Alexander Lukashenko noted.
