Lukashenko: Belarus needs proactive, competent, ambitious executives

MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) – The training of future executives should meet the highest standards, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he visited the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Belarus on 18 October, BelTA informs.

The president was informed about the organization of training at the Institute of Civil Service, the Institute of Senior Executive Personnel, The R&D Institute of Public Administration.

Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized that future executives should have profound knowledge in various fields, including in information technologies. The Academy of Public Administration should train IT specialists. “We train executives and managers,” the president said. He added that the country, first of all, needs proactive, competent and ambitious leaders.

According to the head of state, the procedure of selecting future students and listeners of the Academy of Public Administration is very important as they will have to use their knowledge and skills for the resolution of pending issues.

At the same time, the president pointed out the need to train highly-qualified economists at the university. “We need to work out a good and well-knit program for economic students,” he said. “Economics is important for the managerial personnel.” Aleksandr Lukashenko also deems it necessary to focus on learning foreign language.

The importance of a talented youth pool was also mentioned at the meeting. “It is essential to find leaders among talented young people and train them as future executives,” the president concluded.
