Lukashenko: Belarus, Georgia will find such scenarios of cooperation to suit both EEU, EU

TBILISI, 23 April (BelTA) – Belarus and Georgia will find such scenarios of cooperation that will suit partners in the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) and the European Union (EU), President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko told BelTA after the negotiations with his Georgian counterpart Giorgi Margvelashvili in Tbilisi on 23 April.

“We have certain obligations in the Eurasian Economic Union; Georgia has certain obligations after the signing of the association agreement with the European Union, but they do not contradict our relations,” the Belarusian leader said. According to the President of Belarus, if these big unions need more time to reach an agreement, the countries which are the members of the these associations will easily do it.

Lukashenko: Belarus, Georgia will find such scenarios of cooperation to suit both EEU, EUAlexander Lukashenko reminded that before the business forum the sides agreed that the bilateral trade should make up $200 million. “Georgia and Belarus have taken their obligations into account. Nevertheless, it did not hinder us from making such bilateral trade projections,” the Belarusian head of state said.

“There can be no obstacles here. We are sensible nations, sensible states. We will devise the scheme and scenarios of cooperation which will suit our partners in the EEU and the EU. You can be sure of that,” Alexander Lukashenko emphasized. The Belarusian head of state believes that the countries need to use the benefits of Belarus’ participation in the EEU and Georgia’s implementation of the association agreement with the EU.
