Lukashenko: Belarus creates sustainable governance model

MINSK, 18 October (BelTA) - Over the past quarter of a century Belarus has developed a sustainable and consistent governance model, Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he addressed undergraduate and postgraduate students, the teaching staff and other employees of the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the Belarusian President in Minsk in 18 October, BelTA has learned.

The head of state noted that this year is a jubilee year for political institutions and foundations of the country's political system. Many government bodies set up at the dawn of independent Belarus celebrate their 25th anniversary this year. “Over the past quarter of a century, we have created a sustainable governance model that is stable in its core points. They are simple and understandable to everyone: the sovereignty of our country, the well-being of citizens and fair treatment of people, the unity of society,” Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.

According to him, state administration bodies play the most important role in the effort to achieve these goals. “It is here, at the Academy of Public Administration, that we can openly discuss the prospects for their development. Almost a decade has passed since our last meeting in this format. This is an occasion to sum up some results and put new tasks before the system of state administration, to find answers to questions: who is he, the leader of the future? What is the role of the Academy in the training of managerial personnel,” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

He stressed that the Academy of Public Administration is a unique educational institution, the very name of the university emphasizes its status and importance. “It develops the modern national school of governance, the future of the country. The future, the main role in which belongs to those who consciously choose a responsible and difficult path - to serve the country and the people. This is the work that requires full dedication, commitment to the state, sincere attitude to people, constant self-improvement,” the Belarusian leader said.
