Lithuanian politician lauds Belarus’ visa-waiver program for Europeans

MINSK, 13 May (BelTA) – I praise the decision of the Belarusian president to introduce a visa-waiver program for European countries, former Lithuanian presidential candidate Eduardas Vaitkus told a press conference in BelTA’s press center in Minsk on 13 May, BelTA has learned. 

“I view it very positively. It is very good that such a decision was made. In my opinion, it was a smart decision,” he said.

The politician admitted that he is still unsure about what he will bring back from Belarus. “I would like to see the paintings of an artist, which I have only seen online. But I do not know yet what to bring back to Lithuania,” Eduardas Vaitkus said.

He recalled that the Lithuanian authorities urge their citizens not to travel to Belarus, intimidating them that it is not safe for them here. “I feel totally safe in Belarus,” Eduardas Vaitkus added.
