Kupchyna: Intergovernmental commission helps bolster Belarus-Slovenia ties

LJUBLJANA, 7 July (BelTA) – The Belarusian-Slovenian intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation is an important mechanism in the development of contacts between the two states, Belarus’ Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alena Kupchyna told BelTA before the negotiations with Director General for Economic Diplomacy at the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Stanislav Rascan on 7 July.

Alena Kupchyna and Stanislav Rascan are the co-chairs of the intergovernmental commission for trade and economic, scientific and technical cooperation. The talks in Ljubljana which will take place as part of the visit of the Belarusian deputy minister of foreign affairs to Slovenia will focus on the implementation of resolutions of the previous session. In took place in Ljubljana in October 2014. The sessions of the joint commission have been held on a regular basis since 2011 and are rather productive because the cooperation of Belarus and Slovenia is dynamically developing.

On 6 July Alena Kupchyna held talks with State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dragoljuba Bencina, met with Political Director of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Igor Jukic in the Slovenian capital. The meetings with the top officials of the Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs focused on the current state and prospects of bilateral political, economic, cultural and humanitarian relations, the situation in the region and the development of Belarus-EU dialogue.

Alena Kupchyna will also attend the celebrations of Belarus Independence Day.
