Kozeko: We could have won two medals if we were not to hurry up

PYEONGCHANG, 16 February (BelTA) - We could have won two medals in the Ladies Aerials if we were not to hurry up, head coach of the Belarusian aerials national team Nikolai Kozeko said after Anna Guskova’s gold medal performance in PyeongChang on 16 February, BelTA informs.

Nikolai Kozeko, who has trained a lot of outstanding athletes, told the media that his team was ready to show the highest results. “Anna Guskova did really well today. For her it was a long way to the victory. She worked hard, especially in the recent years. Today, we could have won one more medal. Alla Tsuper was performing a very difficult routine. At the moment, when she made a mistake, I did not give the green light to her to start. I signaled this, but the director of the competitions turned on the timer and Alla had to go. If we were not hurried up, we could have won another medal,” Nikolai Kozeko said.

He said that the Men’s Aerials qualifications are scheduled for tomorrow. A lot is to be done to make everything possible for the next two days to be as successful for our team, the head coach added.

Nikolai Kozeko, together with his coaching staff, has already trained four Olympic champions in Belarus. Anna Guskova has joined Aleksei Grishin (2010 Vancouver), Anton Kushnir and Alla Tsuper (both – 2014 Sochi).
