Kobyakov: The Government’s major task is to restore economic growth

MINSK, 16 December (BelTA) - The Government’s major task is to restore economic growth, Belarus Premier Andrei Kobyakov told media on 16 December, BelTA informs.

“The task is to get back onto the path of economic growth. Today the President has supported the main program documents for 2016: the social and economic development forecast, the main monetary guidelines and the draft budget,” noted Andrei Kobyakov. In his words, the draft budget has already been considered by the committees and subcommittees of the House of Representatives. “We have been intensively working with the document for over a month,” the Belarusian head of government said. According to him, the forecast documents envisage to a gradual economic growth in 2016.

“Balanced economic development is among the key points in the President’s decree on the government’s performance indicators. We will work on restoring progressive economic growth,” stressed Andrei Kobyakov.

On 16 December Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No.488 to appoint Andrei Kobyakov Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus. The Belarusian head of state also took the decision to reappoint the country’s Vice Premiers: First Vice Premier Vasily Matyushevsky, Vice Premiers Vladimir Semashko, Anatoly Kalinin, Natalia Kochanova and Mikhail Rusy.
