MINSK, 15 December (BelTA) – Belarus and Iran hold similar views on many issues on the international agenda, Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araghchi told the media following a meeting with the Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov in Minsk on 15 December, BelTA has learned.
The ministers held talks in both one-on-one and extended formats and discussed the state and prospects for the development of Belarusian-Iranian cooperation.
Abbas Araghchi noted that during his meeting with Aleksandr Lukashenko, they had a constructive dialogue and made many important decisions: “It is important that the Belarusian president confirmed the intention to continue developing cooperation with Iran.”
“Relations between Belarus and Iran are currently developing dynamically. In fact, they have been warm and friendly since the very beginning of Belarus’ independence. And we will always continue this course in our relations,” the minister of foreign affairs of Iran assured.
The foreign minister also noted: “Our countries always support each other in all international aspects and have a common stance on many issues within various international organizations. And our vision on all matters is similar. We are grateful to our Belarusian friends for condemning the attack and aggression against Iran and for expressing solidarity with the Iranian people.”
