Industrial clusters in the regions seen as major component of new Belarusian economy

MINSK, 2 April (BelTA) – Industrial clusters in the regions will become a real point of growth of the new economy. The statement was made by Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich as the spring session of the upper chamber of the Belarusian parliament began on 2 April, BelTA has learned.

Mikhail Myasnikovich described the development of the industrial territorial clusters as a responsible task, which the central government, municipal government agencies, and members of the parliament are tackling together. “Active work on the Orsha cluster is in progress. The Brest Oblast administration has made decisions concerning Baranovichi and the district. There will be other projects, too. I believe it will be a real point of growth of the new economy,” he stressed.

The year 2018 has been declared the Year of Native Land in Belarus. “Regional development is of crucial importance for the effective social and economic development of the state. The Council of the Republic has to mobilize forces in order to get every populated locality developed, in order to enable proper living standards for the people,” said Mikhail Myasnikovich.

Mikhail Myasnikovich said he was confident it is necessary to make the role of municipal councils of deputies more prominent. Their responsibility for exercising their rights and honoring their commitments needs to be increased. Elections to the municipal councils of deputies took place in February 2018. Mikhail Myasnikovich remarked that the newly elected members are decent, active, and passionate people, who know their voters’ expectations and are capable of effectively organizing the work. “Best of all, they know how to work with people. They represent a genuine personnel reserve of our state,” Mikhail Myasnikovich summed it up.
