Hope for IEC General Meeting in Minsk to benefit Belarus’ industry, business

MINSK, 12 October (BelTA) – Chairman of the State Committee for Standardization of Belarus Viktor Nazarenko hopes the General Meeting of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) in Minsk will benefit the industry and business of Belarus. The official made the statement at its opening ceremony on 12 October, BelTA informs.

“We count on mutual interest and benefit for the country’s industry and business in intensifying the participation of Belarusian experts in international standardization as well as for all the participants who, I hope, will take home useful information on possible cooperation areas with our country and positive impressions from the visit to Belarus,” noted Viktor Nazarenko.

In his words, Belarus has waited for this event and is glad to meet with the like-minded and partners from all over the world. “We will do our best to show you our beautiful country, give you an opportunity to talk to our hospitable people as well as professionals and specialists in the areas of interest to the IEC,” said Viktor Nazarenko.

According to him, Belarus’ adherence to implementing new technologies in energy, electrotechnics, electronics and energy saving is proved by the fact that the event is held simultaneously with the 20th Belarusian Energy and Ecology Forum. “You will be able to visit its exhibition shows and seminars,” said the Chairman of the State Committee for Standardization.

According to Viktor Nazarenko, meeting high requirements of international standards in every economic sector is a strategic area of Belarus’ technical policy. “We are grateful to the President of Belarus and the country’s government for support of all projects in technical regulation and standardization. This event is not an exception: the idea to host the 79th IEC General Meeting was supported at the supreme state level,” he concluded.
