Good prospects for expanding Belarusian parliament’s contacts along European vector

Good prospects for expanding Belarusian parliament’s contacts along European vector

MINSK, 2 April (BelTA) – Belarusian parliamentarians have serious opportunities for expanding contacts along the European vector. The statement was made by Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Vladimir Andreichenko as the spring session of the lower chamber of the Belarusian parliament began on 2 April, BelTA has learned.

Expanding economic cooperation lies at the heart of international activities of the Belarusian parliament. “After sessions of the OSCE and CEI parliamentary bodies serious opportunities for expanding mutually beneficial contacts along the European vector are emerging for us,” stressed the MP.

According to Vladimir Andreichenko, in particular, the first ever visit of the Belarusian parliament’s delegation to Switzerland confirms it. “The agenda of the negotiations covered a broad range of matters concerning interaction in trade, economic, credit, investment, and humanitarian affairs. Relations with interparliamentary organizations, including the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly and PACE, will be filled with new content. There is no doubt we have an entire range of matters of mutual interest, which cannot be resolved in one go but require a thoughtful and gradual approach. And we are ready for cooperation in this sphere,” he stressed.
