Foreign leaders congratulate Belarus president, Belarusian people on Independence Day

MINSK, 3 July (BelTA) – Independence Day congratulations addressed to Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko and the Belarusian people are being received from leaders of foreign states, heads of international organizations and integration associations as well as from political and public figures, the press service of the Belarusian leader told BelTA.

The Belarus president and the Belarusian people have been congratulated by the leaders of Russia, China, the USA, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, Mongolia, Türkiye, North Korea, Pakistan, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Oman, the UAE, Egypt, Bahrain, Vietnam, Nicaragua, Myanmar, Laos, South Africa, Morocco, Algeria, Jordan, Cambodia, Palestine, Sudan, the Republic of Chad, and Mauritania.

Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia Kirill and Pope Leo XIV have also sent congratulatory messages.

Congratulatory messages also came from UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres, SCO Secretary General Nurlan Yermekbayev, CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Bakytzhan Sagintayev, and CSTO Secretary General Taalatbek Masadykov.

In his congratulatory message Russian President Vladimir Putin emphasized that this holiday has special meaning not only for Belarusians but also for Russians because it is linked to a glorious event in shared history – the liberation of Minsk from Nazi invaders: “The bonds of brotherly friendship and mutual assistance, forged during the harsh war years, remain a reliable basis for the development of allied Russian-Belarusian relations today. Moscow and Minsk fruitfully cooperate in all areas and coordinate efforts in countering external threats and challenges.”

“I am confident that by continuing to increase multifaceted partnership ties in every possible way and strengthening the institutions of the Union State [of Belarus and Russia], we will be able to honorably overcome any trials, defend our legitimate interests in the international arena, and ensure a decent future for our citizens. I sincerely wish good health and success to you and well-being and prosperity to the brotherly Belarusian nation,” the congratulatory message from the Russian leader reads.

President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping addressed sincere congratulations and best wishes to Aleksandr Lukashenko and the friendly peoplee of Belarus. “Under your leadership Belarus has achieved new impressive results in various areas of state building. As a true friend and good partner, China is sincerely delighted with these achievements,” the congratulatory message reads. “I highly value the development of the all-weather and all-round strategic partnership between China and Belarus and am ready to make joint efforts with you to promote the development of bilateral relations at a high level and to facilitate high-quality cooperation between both sides for the benefit of the two peoples.”

Xi Jinping also wished Aleksandr Lukashenko good health and well-being, power and prosperity to Belarus, and happiness and peace to the Belarusian people.

The Belarus president received a congratulatory message from U.S. President Donald Trump. “On behalf of the United States of America, I congratulate the people of Belarus as you celebrate your Republic Day on 3 July. This day marks the liberation of Minsk from Nazi occupation and will forever stand as a reminder of the Belarusian people’s struggle for freedom. I extend my sincere wishes to you and the people of Belarus for a peaceful and prosperous year ahead, and I hope to meet with you in the future,” the message from the U.S. leader reads.

Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted in his message that Independence Day is a vivid symbol of the unity of the Belarusian nation, the resilience of the national spirit, and the country’s confident movement along the path of creation and progress. “Kazakhstan treats the brotherly Belarusian nation, its unique culture, and rich traditions with great respect and warmth,” the congratulatory message reads. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev wished Aleksandr Lukashenko inexhaustible energy and further success in his responsible state activities, and well-being and prosperity to the nation of Belarus. “Under your strong and authoritative leadership Belarus consistently implements large-scale tasks to build an efficient, competitive economy, build up industrial, scientific, and technological potential, and strengthen the state’s position in the international arena. I note with satisfaction the productive and mutually beneficial nature of cooperation between our countries, which invariably grows stronger in the spirit of friendship and strategic partnership. I am confident that through joint efforts Kazakh-Belarusian relations will continue developing dynamically, opening up new opportunities for the implementation of significant joint initiatives and bringing bilateral interaction to a brand new level,” the Kazakhstan president emphasized.

Congratulations also came from the first president of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. He noted that this significant holiday is a symbol of the unity and cohesion of the Belarusian nation, fidelity to its history, and a desire for the creation and prosperity of their native country. “Under your leadership Belarus has achieved significant progress in social and economic development and in improving the well-being of the population,” the congratulatory message reads. “I am confident that the strong ties between our nations will continue serving as a reliable basis for preserving the traditions of friendship and mutual respect.”

In his congratulations Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized that under the leadership of Aleksandr Lukashenko Belarus continues moving confidently along the path of progress, successfully accomplishing critical tasks to strengthen statehood, ensure security, modernize the economy, and improve the quality of life of the population. “The high results that have been achieved are clear evidence of the effectiveness of your course, which is aimed at protecting national interests and sovereignty and creating a reliable foundation for the further development of the country,” the congratulatory message reads.

“Uzbekistan and Belarus are traditionally linked by strong bonds of friendship and cooperation. I note with satisfaction the intensification of fruitful interaction in recent years, primarily in trade and economy. It opens up broad prospects for the implementation of industrial cooperation programs and projects in priority economy branches. I am convinced that the upcoming visit and top-level events will mark the beginning of a new stage in the multifaceted Uzbek-Belarusian partnership,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized.

Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that relations between Azerbaijan and Belarus are characterized by a high level of mutual understanding and tight interaction. He wished Aleksandr Lukashenko good health, happiness, and success in his responsible state activities, and well-being and prosperity to the friendly nation of Belarus. “Strong traditions of friendship and mutual support between our peoples as well as the successful implementation of agreements at the top level, fill our interstate ties with quality content and contribute to strengthening bilateral cooperation across the entire spectrum of areas. I am convinced that through joint efforts the multifaceted interaction and strategic partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Belarus will continue to steadily expand and deepen for the benefit of our friendly nations and countries,” the congratulatory message from the Azerbaijani leader reads.

Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon sent heartfelt congratulations and best wishes on the occasion of the national holiday to Aleksandr Lukashenko and the friendly Belarusian nation. “We sincerely rejoice at the significant successes of our Belarusian partners in social and economic development and in improving the well-being of the people as well as the growth of Belarus’ authority in the international arena,” the congratulatory message reads. “We attach great significance to strengthening and developing substantial bilateral relations of strategic partnership. Relations between our countries occupy a priority place in the foreign policy course of the Republic of Tajikistan. I am convinced that through joint efforts we will be able to fully realize all potential opportunities of the sides and will achieve the positive goals we’ve set in the interests of a peaceful and happy future for our countries and peoples.”

In his congratulatory message Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov noted that Belarus moves confidently along the path of sustainable social and economic development, consistently strengthening its authority in the international arena and ensuring the well-being of its citizens. He also noted the progressive development of Kyrgyz-Belarusian relations, which are based on traditions of friendship, mutual respect, and trust, and fruitful interaction within the framework of such integration associations as the Eurasian Economic Union, the Commonwealth of Independent States, the Collective Security Treaty Organization, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. “I am convinced that through joint efforts we will continue to strengthen bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest,” he emphasized. “I wish you, dear Aleksandr Grigoryevich [Lukashenko], good health, well-being, and further success in state activities, and peace, prosperity, and well-being to the friendly people of Belarus.”

Turkmenistan President Serdar Berdimuhamedow sent heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the Belarusian head of state and the people of Belarus on the occasion of Independence Day: “I am convinced that friendly relations between our countries will continue consistently growing stronger and will continue developing for the benefit of our nations. Taking this pleasant opportunity, I wish you good health and new successes in your responsible activities, and I wish peace, well-being, and prosperity to the friendly people of the Republic of Belarus.”

Mongolia President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh noted in his congratulatory message that traditionally friendly relations with Belarus and bilateral cooperation have successfully developed in recent years in many branches of the social and economic sphere thanks to the joint efforts of both states. “I will be glad to continue our cooperation with you, Mr. President, in order to further expand bilateral relations within the framework of common goals reflected in the long-term development policies of Mongolia and Belarus as well as in order to strengthen friendship between our peoples. Taking this opportunity, I would like to express firm confidence that my reciprocal state visit at your invitation to your beautiful country will make a worthy contribution to filling friendly bilateral relations with practical content and will contribute to the development of effective cooperation in areas of mutual interest,” the congratulatory message reads. The Mongolian president wished the Belarus president and his family good health, happiness, and all the best, and he wished prosperity to the friendly Belarusian nation.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan sent a congratulatory message to the Belarusian head of state. On behalf of the Turkish nation and himself, he addressed the most sincere congratulations on Independence Day: “We are pleased with the stable development of Turkish-Belarusian relations based on mutual respect, trust, and friendship. I believe that the existing constructive dialogue and communication between our countries contribute to peace and tranquility in our region at a time when it faces various challenges, some of which have global consequences. We are ready to work on further accelerating the comprehensive cooperation that our countries have developed in many areas and especially in the trade and economic sphere. Taking this opportunity, I wish Your Excellency happiness and good health, and peace, prosperity, and well-being to the friendly nation of Belarus,” the congratulatory message reads.

Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un also sent a congratulatory message: “I express confidence that the Korean-Belarusian relations of friendship and cooperation, which have reached a new stage of development after our meeting in Pyongyang in March this year, will expand and strengthen in all spheres in accordance with the interests of the peoples of the two countries. Taking this opportunity, I wish you good health and even greater success in your responsible work for the prosperity of the country, and I wish well-being to the friendly Belarusian nation.”

The Belarusian head of state has been congratulated by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan: “I am glad to convey to Your Excellency sincere congratulations and express best wishes on the occasion of the Day of Independence of the Republic of Belarus. I wish Your Excellency good health and happiness, and further progress and prosperity to the government and the people of the friendly Republic of Belarus.”

Congratulations have also been received from UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and UAE Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Presidential Court Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari noted in his congratulatory message that this historic day, dedicated to the liberation of Minsk from the Nazi occupation, symbolizes the courage, resilience, and unwavering determination of the Belarusian nation in its pursuit of freedom and sovereignty. He emphasized that this day serves as a fitting reminder of Belarus’ outstanding journey toward peace, stability, and national unity. “Pakistan highly values the friendly and constructive relations between the two countries, which are based on mutual trust and shared aspirations for progress. I reaffirm Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties in various fields for the benefit of both countries,” the congratulatory message reads.

In his congratulatory message Israel President Isaac Herzog spoke highly of the historic relations between the nations of Belarus and Israel: “It is manifested among other things by the large number of Israeli citizens of Belarusian descent. These people, along with the Jewish community of Belarus, have linked our two nations for generations.” Isaac Herzog emphasized that both regions continue facing serious challenges on the path to ensuring stability and security. “I sincerely hope that the coming year will bring us peace, stability, and prosperity for the sake of and in the name of the well-being of our nations,” the congratulatory message reads. “I would like once again, on this significant and festive day, to wish you all the very best from the bottom of my heart.”

The congratulatory message from King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia reads: “On the occasion of your country’s Independence Day, we have the honor to send Your Excellency our most heartfelt congratulations, best wishes for good health and well-being, and further progress and prosperity to the government and friendly nation of the Republic of Belarus.” Congratulations were also received from Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq Al Said conveyed sincere congratulations to Aleksandr Lukashenko on the occasion of Independence Day: “We take this opportunity to wish you happiness and good health, and further progress and prosperity to the friendly nation of Belarus.”

Sincere congratulations on the occasion of Belarus’ Independence Day on behalf of the people and government of Egypt have been sent by the country’s President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi: “With a sense of appreciation, I note the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation that link our countries and have been successfully developing for the last few decades. I count on further strengthening of Egyptian-Belarusian relations and on expanding mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields for the benefit of our friendly nations. Taking this opportunity, I wish Your Excellency good health and well-being, and further progress, prosperity, and success to the friendly nation of Belarus.”

President of Vietnam, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam noted Belarus’ great successes in social and economic development, improving the well-being of the people as well as strengthening the country’s role and authority in the international arena. “Recently, especially after the establishment of strategic partnership relations between our countries in May 2025, bilateral cooperation has been dynamically developing in all spheres: in politics, diplomacy, trade, economy, science, technology, education, and culture. I am convinced that in the new era, relations between Vietnam and Belarus will continue advancing successfully for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries, for the sake of peace, cooperation, and development in the region and on a global scale. Taking this opportunity, I wish prosperity to the Republic of Belarus, happiness and well-being to its nation, and to you, Mr. President, I wish good health, happiness, and great successes in your highly responsible state post,” the congratulatory message reads.

A congratulatory message to the Belarus president has been received from Co-Presidents of Nicaragua Daniel Ortega Saavedra and Rosario Murillo: “We join in celebrating the heroic liberation of the city of Minsk from the Nazi yoke on 3 July 1944 – a key event in the history of Belarus. This is a symbol of the courage, resilience, and unwavering spirit of the Belarusian nation, which rose from the ashes of war and built a sovereign, prosperous nation that is proud of its identity,” the congratulatory message reads. “Dear brother Lukashenko, as you yourself have said, the day of Minsk’s liberation is the second birthday of the Belarusian nation. This day, which has deep patriotic meaning, unites all Belarusians around the values of freedom, peace, and independence. We express our sincere appreciation to you for your leadership and dedication to serving Belarus throughout all these years. Under your leadership the country has strengthened its sovereignty, enhanced social and economic development, and increased its prestige in the international arena. We congratulate the entire Belarusian nation, which celebrates this important day with well-deserved pride. May the spirit of unity and commitment to the nation’s future continue to lead Belarus to new achievements and horizons of progress, peace, and brotherhood.”

President the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Min Aung Hlaing conveyed warmest congratulations and best wishes to Aleksandr Lukashenko and the entire Belarusian nation. “Myanmar highly values the friendly and constructive relations that inexorably develop between our two countries. I am confident that thanks to further joint efforts and close cooperation, relations between Myanmar and Belarus will rise to a new level, contributing to the prosperity and well-being of both states,” the congratulatory message reads. Min Aung Hlaing also mentioned the productive meetings and mutual visits held earlier, which further strengthened the bonds of friendship and cooperation, while the signed documents laid a solid foundation for expanding interaction in areas of mutual interest.

President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic Thongloun Sisoulith, in his congratulatory message, wished Aleksandr Lukashenko good health, happiness and further success in his state activities, and the friendly Belarusian people well-being and prosperity. “I am highly satisfied with the cooperation that has developed between the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and the Republic of Belarus in recent years, and I am confident that these traditionally friendly relations and fruitful interaction between our countries will continue to deepen for the benefit of our peoples, as well as in the interests of peace, stability and cooperation both in the region and globally,” the message reads.

South Africa President Cyril Ramaphosa conveyed the warmest greetings and best wishes to Aleksandr Lukashenko as well as to the government and the people of Belarus: “Allow me to take this opportunity to wish Your Excellency good health and to reaffirm our eagerness for further strengthening of the excellent bonds of friendship that exist between our countries.”

King Mohammed VI of Morocco conveyed warm congratulations to Aleksandr Lukashenko on the occasion of the holiday and wished the nation of Belarus further progress and prosperity. “Taking this opportunity, I would like to note my intention to continue joint work with you in order to strengthen bilateral cooperation and expand it in all areas of mutual interest for the benefit of developing friendship and closer ties between our peoples,” the congratulatory message reads.

King Abdullah II of Jordan, on behalf of the people and government of the country, addressed congratulations to the Belarus president on the state holiday and wished him all the very best: “Accept my sincere wishes for success and prosperity to your country and nation.”

King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia addressed the warmest congratulations on the occasion of Independence Day to the president and the people of Belarus: “I highly value the friendly relations between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of Belarus and remain confident that in the coming years our cooperation will continue to deepen both in the bilateral format and on multilateral platforms, contributing to mutual understanding, shared prosperity, and sustainable development.”

King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain sent congratulations on behalf of the people and the government of the kingdom: “We are glad to take this opportunity to express to Your Excellency our sincere wishes for good health and happiness to you personally, and continuous progress and prosperity to your nation.”

President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas addressed the warmest congratulations and wishes to Aleksandr Lukashenko and the friendly Belarusian nation on the occasion of Independence Day: “We hope that it will bring good health and happiness to you and goodness and prosperity to your country and nation. We highly value the bonds of friendship and mutual respect linking our states and make persistent efforts for their comprehensive development and bringing them to a brand new level. We highly appreciate Belarus’ solidarity and its support for the Palestinian people in the just cause of defending their legitimate rights to freedom and independence.”

Algeria President Abdelmadjid Tebboune addressed sincere congratulations to Aleksandr Lukashenko and the friendly Belarusian nation on the occasion of Independence Day along with wishes for good health, happiness, and well-being. “Taking this opportunity, I would like to note the dynamic nature of bilateral relations between Algeria and Belarus, especially after your visit in December last year. I am convinced that the upcoming second session of the Algerian-Belarusian joint commission in the near future will give a new impetus to the development of bilateral cooperation and will contribute to strengthening the historical bonds of friendship between our peoples, serving their interests and aspirations,” the congratulatory message reads.

Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of Sudan Abdel Fattah al-Burhan Abdelrahman, on behalf of the Sudanese people and himself, wished development and prosperity to the people of Belarus and good health and happiness to Aleksandr Lukashenko: “Taking this opportunity, I assure you of our firm commitment to strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and the excellent relations of cooperation that exist between our two countries for the benefit of our peoples.”

President of the Republic of Chad Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno, on behalf of the government and the people of the country, sent sincere and warm congratulations to the Belarus president and the entire Belarusian nation, wishing them peace and happiness. “I note with satisfaction the existence of kind friendly and partnership relations between our two countries and express the wish to see them become more diverse and strong,” the congratulatory message reads.

A congratulatory message also came from President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania Mohamed Ould Ghazouani. On the occasion of Independence Day, he wished the friendly Belarusian people further progress and prosperity. “I also want to assure you of our commitment to supporting, strengthening and developing the existing relations between our countries in the interests of our two friendly peoples,” the Mauritanian president emphasized.

UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres congratulated Aleksandr Lukashenko on Independence Day. He also noted that national holidays serve as important moments for reflecting on a country’s development path, its contribution to the international community, and the aspirations that shape its future. “They also remind us of the value of dialogue and solidarity in solving global problems. Today the world faces urgent trials: ending wars and preventing the outbreak of new conflicts, countering the climate crisis, reducing inequality as well as responsibly managing cutting-edge technologies. Overcoming these and other challenges requires more intensive efforts and a commitment to multilateral cooperation for the sake of ensuring peace and security, achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, and protecting human rights. Taking this opportunity, I am pleased to convey my best wishes to the people of the Republic of Belarus on this significant day,” the congratulatory message reads.

SCO Secretary General Nurlan Yermekbayev noted in his congratulatory message that Belarusians, together with the nations of the anti-fascist coalition, defended their freedom and independence in the cruelest battles of World War Two. And today residents of the country not only religiously honor the memory of the victims of that war but also move forward worthily along the path of the sovereign development of their state. He stated that Belarus fruitfully cooperates with the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in various areas and efficiently coordinates efforts with the organization’s member states in countering existing challenges and threats.
