FM: Belarus will continue to strengthen independence, sovereignty

MINSK, 20 December (BelTA) - Belarus will continue to strengthen the independence and sovereignty, Belarus Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said during a ceremony to hoist the flag of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Minsk on 20 December, BelTA has learned.

“Belarus must remain an independent state. We have dreamed of the sovereignty for centuries and must continue to work towards strengthening the independence and territorial integrity of the state,” Vladimir Makei said.

“Strengthening the independence and territorial integrity is one of the basic fundamental issues, and we must think about them day and night,” Vladimir Makei said.

Talking about the relations with Russia, the minister stressed that this course has been formulated by the head of state and will be continued.
